Hello everybody !

In the "old days" ..in Aeroworx forum, we had a member who's name was Brian.
I am not sure, but I think he was B200 Pilot in " Admiralty Air Service".

But..nevertheless.. ! He made a big improvement to the Aircraft.CFG file.

The way FS9 handle´s turboprops is far from the best.
And it seems that Aeroworx´s Aircraft.CFG file could be better.

If you want a more realistic (quicker) response to your throttle setting´s ,
this modification of the Aircraft.CFG file will help you.


Make a Back-up copy of your Aircraft.cfg file and store it in a safe place.


And copy/paste(replace) the contents of this quote to your Aircraft.CFG file.

I have used for long time, and the B200 respond much quicker to throttle adjustment´s.

does this make the power levers more accurate to the real thing?  Does torque respond faster and not spool like a N1 gauge?  That's been my biggest pet peeve with the aircraft...torque is actually very easy to set in the real airplane and is extremely responsive, unlike the spooling effect of a dual spool turbofan engine.

Hello Jeff

Yes the torque respond much faster, but I do not know if it acts like the real thing.
I think this modification makes it much easier to handle the B200.
Please try it, and write what you think.

I downloaded and installed this good job from Brian. I tested many times and observed that reducing throttles, torque drops responding really fast but does not stabilize. Let's say, reducing from 1800lbs to 1400lbs torque drops to 1400, then up to 1500, then down to 1450 and up to 1400lbs where it stabilizes. Obviously such operation on glide slope phase can't help for an easy and smooth landing, when so many things have to be done. Any way, I thank so much Brian and Bjarne for job and notification. And I would like to hear results from other friends.

Hello,

I just tried to get this thing to work but i don't know if i'm doing it the right way.
So, here is what i've done:

Replace the following sections with the one you provided in the aircraft.cfg

and i left the others untouched. I'm using also Pro Flight Quadrant with FSUIPC, and all FS commands disabled.

When i reduce the throttle, torque drops to 0 and rise up again to a value and then take about 1minute to stabilize. Am I doing something wrong? I got a copy of the Original Aircraft.cfg so i can still fly this beautiful bird. I just wanted to try this improvement because i find it difficult to fly with the "slow throttle response."

Also, the B200 is permanently turning to the left if i leave the yoke centered (even when i'm in a right turn with the yoke centered). I always have to turn the controller to the right (a little) so i can fly straight. Is it due to the propellers or is it a bug? (it's inclining pretty fast actually)
All trims are set to zero except elevator trim.

EDIT: Checked again the installation process and did again a flight test without proflight quadrant or stick. Still not working. The torque drops again at 0 for 1 sec when reducing throttle and then take 1min to stabilized to the new targeted torque.

Hmmm ? 1 minute ..that is a long time.

My king air acts more like FLTsimmer´s description:

Hello,

For the torque problem, this is only happening when applying this patch. With the default aircraft.cfg, it is working perfect, except the throttle response which is quite low.

For the turning problem, it's seems that this is due to the engines + my controller pb. this is why it is turning fast to the left. I think i managed to solve this by reinstalling the drivers.

Hello,

I changed the aircraft.cfg as Bjarne suggested it and can confirm that the throttle response is very much improved. But I am not really happy as the throtle has now become very nervous. Its similar to the effect FLtsimmer described. For example if I reduce from 1.730 to 1.000, then it might happen that I get 800 - 1.300 - 900- 1.110 and so on, ending up finally at 1.000. That really bad if you cant rely instantly on your new throttle setting if you are on an Approach with heavy workload (and without Copilot)!

It would be most welcome if someone would have an idea for further improvements.

After reading your post´s and after testing both aircraft.cfg files  several times, I must admit the modified cfg file have some disadvantages.

I think you should chose the aircraft.cfg file that best suits your temperament.

I've tried this and have no problem with it at all. I find it way better especially when advancing the power levers. And I don't find it a problem reducing them either. I reckon it's a good fix.

Discovered with this one that it's only the fuel_flow_gain that needs to be changed. So the mod initially was from 0.011 to 0.088. More response but some reported that in takes awhile to settle after thrust reduction.

Try then changing it to 0.022 or something. Not as quick as setting 0.088 but it'll settle on thrust reduction a lot better as well.
